The AI Background Removal tool uses machine learning to automatically cut out the subject of a photo.
## How It Works
1. Upload a photo (JPG, PNG, WebP)
2. AI analyzes the image and detects the foreground subject
3. The background is removed, leaving a transparent PNG
4. Download your cutout image
## Best Results
The tool works best with:
- Clear distinction between subject and background
- People, products, animals, and objects
- Well-lit, in-focus subjects
It may struggle with:
- Complex hair or fur (use fine-edge mode)
- Transparent or glass objects
- Subjects with similar colors to the background
## Fine-Edge Mode
For portraits with complex hair, enable Fine-Edge mode for better strand detection.
## Post-Processing
After removal, you can:
- Add a new background color or image in the Image Editor
- Add a shadow
- Export as PNG (transparent) or JPG (white background)
